Green Jacket Board of Governors and Rulings Committee

2024 news and participant rulings

The GJ-BGRC has made a decision on the following item:

1.  Due to last years championship going to a descendant of one of the original six brethren, the board has voted in favor that all descendants of all ages be able to win the coveted green jacket and be given honorary "descendant of original six" status with all rights and privileges awarded here in.

Note** Due to BW's deceptive and all out dishonest behavior in the past, the descendants of BW must bring 2 pieces of ID and a notarized document stating their kinship to BW

2023 news and participant rulings

The GJ-BGRC has made a decision on the previous items:

1.  The board has voted in favor of not suspending nor disqualifying neither Broken Wing or Sweetheart due to insufficient evidence brought forth by the unnamed participant whom shall remain nameless as is his or her right.

Although there seemed to be adequate evidence to suspend and possibly even revoke a members entitlement to participate at future events, it seems that a flock of ravens swooped in and flew away with our files.

At this point both BW and Sweetheart are in good standing with the GJ-BGRC

2023 news and participant rulings

The GJ-BGRC has or will be making a decision on the following items:

1.  It has come to the GJ-BGRC attention that Sweetheart and Broken Wing have been talking in secret about hosting the 2023 tournament at a time and place that is inconvenient to all other participants.  Although this is not unfamiliar behavior from Broken Wing it is disturbing to know that Sweetheart is also involved in this rule breaking act.

The board will be meeting next week to discuss if any penalties or exclusions may be warranted.  As a result of this information (please know the informants identity will be protected) the GJ-BGRC is putting both Broken Wing and Sweetheart on notice!!

The time honored tradition of the Green Jacket is important to all clan members and the GJ-BGRC will continue to work hard at protecting this treasured event.  Thank you to all participants who have reached out in support of our work in the latest matter.

2022 news and participant rulings

The GJ-BGRC has or will be making a decision on the following items:

1.  Broken Wings supposed hole-in-one at the very short part 3 at the Dunes Golf and Winter Club

If all recall back in 2009 Terry supposedly got a hole-in-one but the committee was not given proof of it.  For his foolish claims the committee then assessed Terry a 2 stroke penalty which was to be given at the 2010 GJ and a fine for $35.00.  Terry then ignored both the penalty strokes and never did pay the fine and went about putting a hole-in-one patch on the coveted GJ.

At that time the GJ-BGRC decided it would give Terry up to but no more than 12 years to bring proof of this so called hole-in-one.

  • The Decision

At this point the committee has not been given proof of the alleged hole-in-one so the committee has decided to strike the hole-in-one as illegitimate and will ask Terry to take the patch off the Jacket.

As all of the participants are aware there is a clause that states "if any GJ participant has any issues with the GJ committee's decisions they may be granted a second opinion from Her Majesty The Queen" which the GJ committee would then take very serious.  However since our dearest Queen is no longer with us this option is not available to Terry.  The GJ will apply to the new King if he would be willing to take on this role but the committee does not expect this to happen any time soon.

Decision Update

Broken Wing has paid his penalty fees plus some substantial extra cash to the GJ-BGRC so it is our decision that Broken Wing did in fact have a hole-in-one back in 2009 at the Dunes Golf and Winter Club and his hole-in-one patch will in fact stay on the coveted Green Jacket.

Although this is looking like Broken Wing is using his immense wealth to overturn his hole-in-one decision please know that the GJ-BGRC operates at the very highest level of integrity and transparency so that's all we have to say about that and this case is now considered closed.

2.  It has come to the GJ committee's attention that Darcy has been using mulligans while playing this year in preparations to the 2022 GJ

  • The Decision

Darcy is being given notice that this will not be tolerated this year during the GJ tournament and  it Is the boards decision to preemptively asses Darcy  with the “one ball  man rule“ in that he may only carry one ball with him at any time during play of this 2022 GJ tournament.

Please know that this is not a new situation that the committee finds itself in with this GJ participant and it is unfortunate that we have to take these very public measures.

Decision Update

It was witnessed many times during the playing of the 2022 Green Jacket that Darcy did in fact use mulligans many times so it is the Boards decision to continue monitoring and warning Darcy's his mulligan behavior.
